  22. To upgrade an existing Miranda IM installation, run the installer
  23. and choose to install to the same folder. Your message history,
  24. settings and contact list will be saved.

  32. 2. General Notes
  33. ----------------
  34. Unlock the power of your new Miranda IM with plugins! There are hundreds
  35. of plugins available for free at addons.miranda-im.org.

  38. 3. Troubleshooting
  39. ------------------
  40. If you have problems with Miranda:
  41.  
  42. a) Disable all plugins. If the problem is gone now, it was probably a
  43.    bug in one of the plugins and not in Miranda IM itself.
  44. b) Update to the latest alpha version.
  45.    We regularly fix bugs in Miranda IM. If you are having a problem it
  46.    might help to upgrade to the latest alpha version, maybe we already
  47.    fixed it. You will find the "Nightly alpha builds" in the "Development"
  48.    section of our website.
  49. c) Check the list of known bugs.
  50.    The official buglist is available at:

  52.    Look here before you submit a new report, dont submit a new report if
  53.    it has already been reported.

  57. 4. Compatibility issues
  58. -----------------------
  59. Miranda IM supports all released versions of Windows from
  60. Windows 95 to Windows Vista. Beta versions are not supported.

  62. a) Windows 95
  63.  
  64.  - If you have trouble running Miranda IM on a Windows 95, make
  65.    sure that you have Winsock and DUN upgrades installed.
  66.  - Menu icons are not supported in Windows 95.
  67.  - Window transparency is only supported on Windows 2000 and later.

  69. b) Plugins
  70.  - Third party plugins may have different requirements than
  71.    Miranda IM itself. The Miranda IM developers cannot guarantee
  72.    that all plugins will work on your system.
